The Bait-us-Salam School is part of a larger educational campus developed with Bait-us-Salam Welfare Trust, comprising a mosque, school, and future residential facilities. The design draws from the circular geometry of the mosque, translating it into a continuous curve that defines the school as a single, cohesive edge within the site. Along this curve, a shaded verandah acts as the primary circulation spine, with classrooms opening onto it to create a porous, climate-responsive threshold between inside and outside. The project is grounded in economy and local construction. Washed terrazzo is used as the primary facade material, allowing for a distinct architectural identity while remaining cost-effective and rooted in local labour practices. The school reflects the studio’s broader engagement with community-driven projects, where design operates within real constraints to create meaningful and enduring spaces.
